Social media and mental health

A lot of our time can be spent on social media, it's where we can get updates on what our friends and family have been up to, build new connections, find out information and share snapshots of our own lives too.

But while there are positives to social media, like many things, there can be experiences that aren't so positive too. We can find ourselves comparing our lives to others, 'doomscrolling', or simply spending too much time online.

In this section you'll find resources that can help provide tips and support if you're starting to find your mental health and wellbeing is being impacted by social media.

It's important to remember that you're not alone, no matter how you're feeling you can reach out for support any time, day or night, by texting SHOUT to 85258.
