In your role for the ambulance, police or fire services, you have put yourself at physical risk carrying out essential work through the Covid-19 pandemic. You have also been putting your mental health under pressure. Shout is here to support you and help you take steps towards feeling better.

We offer anonymous, round-the-clock support by text message. Anyone working for the emergency services can text the word 'BLUELIGHT' to 85258 to be connected to a trained volunteer. They can support you with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts and are here to help you to look after your mental health and wellbeing whenever you need.

How texting Shout works

Shout 85258 is a free and confidential service available to everyone in the UK. Texting is silent, anonymous and won’t appear on your phone bill.

To start a conversation, simply text the word ‘BLUELIGHT' to 85258. You will be connected with a volunteer who is trained in talking about issues big and small, including stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks and suicidal thoughts.
