Support for farmers

Farming can be tough. Long hours, financial pressure, unpredictable weather and working alone can all take a toll. Many farmers carry these pressures quietly, feeling like they just have to keep going.

But you don’t have to face it alone.

Shout offers free, confidential, 24/7 support by text. You’ll be connected with a trained volunteer who will listen without judgement and help you feel less alone.

Shout x Hawkstone

Through our partnership with Hawkstone and Farm Fest, over 500 conversations have taken place with 441 farmers who reached out to SHOUT for support in the past year alone. Many of these conversations reflect the realities of farming life today.

  • Around two-thirds of farmers who text Shout talk about work-related stress, including long hours, financial uncertainty and the pressure of running a farm.
  • More than half describe feeling isolated or lonely.
  • Around one in eight conversations involve suicidal thoughts.

Shout provides free, confidential, 24/7 support by text, connecting farmers with trained volunteers who will listen without judgement and help them feel less alone.

If you’re struggling, you can text HAWKSTONE to 85258 to start a conversation with Shout.

It’s free, confidential, and available whenever you need it.
