Intimate Ed Sheeran gig raises more than £200k for Shout, providing vital support to people struggling to cope
We were incredibly grateful last October when global music icon Ed Sheeran performed an intimate gig at London’s Union Chapel in aid of Shout, which raised more than £200,000 for our text support service. The gig was the first event from For One Night Only (FONO) and Wellstock, an initiative created by Will Young to help raise vital mental health funds.
The money raised enables us to power Shout, a free service which is there around the clock to support anyone who is struggling to cope. To date, our team of Shout Volunteers have taken more than 1.7m conversations with people who are struggling to cope. The main issues that people contact us about include suicide, depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm and grief.
A new film raises the curtain behind the first ever For One Night Only event, which a few hundred lucky prize draw winners were able to attend. As part of the event, Ed Sheeran performed a captivating set list to fans, including some of his latest releases.
We'd also like to thank our brand partners Marks & Spencer, ASOS and Chase UK for their generous support.
