Visit from The Prince of Wales marks a new chapter for Shout and Mental Health Innovations
Today, The Prince of Wales attended an event to mark the merger of our parent charity Mental Health Innovations with The Mix, a move that will help us reach millions more children, young people, and adults with free, digital mental health support.
His Royal Highness heard about our plans to launch a new digital support system for young people, offering content, community, counselling, and crisis support through The Mix. This will include self-paced learning tools and the UK’s first national Peer Chat service.

During the visit, The Prince also heard how Shout Volunteers have supported people in crisis through more than three million text conversations, offering vital support when it’s needed most. He spoke to Shout Volunteer and mental health activist Ben West about how volunteering has given him a way to make a difference to those struggling with their mental health.

His Royal Highness then met members of the Mental Health Innovations Youth Advisory Board, who play a key role in shaping our services, and discussed how young people can get involved, join a supportive community and build valuable skills.
The event also highlighted how Mental Health Innovations’ work with data science and AI, in collaboration with Imperial College London, is helping us better understand what’s driving the decline in young people’s mental health - and what we can do to reverse it.
