Shout's new collaboration with the Premier League
We’re thrilled to announce our new collaboration with the Premier League. This forms part of their Inside Matters campaign to support the mental wellbeing of players, fans and those in communities.
From today, Premier League fans in the UK will be encouraged to text ‘TeamTalk’ to 85258 to speak to us about their worries. In addition, Shout’s parent charity Mental Health Innovations has today released a report ‘Anxiety in the UK’ that gives insight into anxiety and coping skills, from 300,000 anonymised Shout conversations.
Shout and the Premier League will also be publishing the Inside Matters Handbook, a digital guide offering tips and advice for managing the mental and physical symptoms of anxiety.
The Handbook includes input from Premier League players and managers as well as advice from Shout clinicians. It will be available next week, ahead of Mental Health Awareness Week (15 - 21 May), the theme for which is anxiety.
Tottenham Hotspur striker, England captain and Shout ambassador Harry Kane, whose Foundation aims to transform a generation’s thinking about mental health, features in the handbook. Harry said:
"It's just as important to look after our mental health and wellbeing, as it is to care for our physical health. Although awareness has improved, we need to change the way our generation thinks about it. I believe in normalising conversations to help tackle stigma and promote positive habits.”
All Premier League fixtures from 6 to 15 May will be dedicated to the Inside Matters campaign, encouraging supporters to keep up the conversation on mental health by talking and listening to others.
