The Restaurant Group raises £51k walking 42km for Shout
Over 70 team members from The Restaurant Group recently came together to support Shout, raising an incredible £51,000. The team laced up their walking shoes and trekked 42km along the Thames, starting at wagamama Walton-on-Thames and finishing at TRG HQ near London Bridge.
Zoe Crimmings, Executive Business Partner at TRG, tells us more.
Why did TRG choose to fundraise for Shout?
Shout is our charity of the year; we recognise that mental health matters to everyone and wanted to support a cause that directly impacts everyone’s lives.
Testimonials
I would wholeheartedly recommend Shout to any organisation considering a charitable partnership. Their professionalism, warmth and collaborative approach goes a long way to help inspire and motivate continued fundraising.
How did you engage and motivate the team?
We had a Team Leader for each Division/Department who we regularly communicated with. In turn, they rallied the troops within their teams, encouraging them to sign up and fundraise.
As we got closer to the event, we shared a walk countdown and gave regular updates on our fundraising. We also arranged for Ben West, Shout Volunteer and mental health advocate, to attend a lunch and learn in our Support Office, which helped our support team understand the real impact of Shout’s work.
What were your event highlights?

Each individual had their own personal highlight, but I think hitting our target and more was a great achievement. Completing a 26 mile trek, as well as the team collaboration - bringing different teams across the business together - is definitely up there too.
What was the best thing to come out of the fundraising challenge for the team?
It raised Shout’s profile across our business and it was great to see so many people from Shout at the finish line, supporting everyone on the day - it really reflected our partnership.
What advice and top tips would you give to other organisations looking to fundraise for Shout?
Do it! Go ahead and organise that event as it's such a great way to bring companies together whilst raising funds for a very worthy charity in Shout!

Throughout our recent 26-mile Thames Footpath challenge, Shout's involvement was exceptional. From the planning stages right through to the event itself, they demonstrated amazing enthusiasm and support. The personal touches they added – including support along the route and finish line as well as individually personalised thank you cards for every participant – made a lasting impression on everyone involved.
